Custom Adhesive Chips

Open design.

Easy integration.

Your dimensions.

Principle

The adhesive chips consist of an injection-molded chip body, in the open configuration, assembled to a structured, double-sided adhesive tape. The adhesive properties of the tape enable the users to seal the microstructures with a platform of their choice.

Two setup options, to achieve your  custom adhesive chip

Setup 1

Existing Open-channel chip

+ structured adhesive tape

Setup 1 Open Channel Chip

Principle

  • Existing chip body with interfaces and microstructures in open configuration
  • Design to be selected from our off-the-shelf chips
  • Assembled with a 140 µm-thick, structured double-sided adhesive tape, which adds to the structure depth
  • Sealed by the you with a substrate of your choice
  • Minimum order quantity: 10 pcs

Setup 2

Interface Platform

+ structured Adhesive Tape

Setup 2 Interface Platform

Principle

  • Plain substrate featuring interfaces only, without additional microstructures
  • Assembled with structured double-sided adhesive tape with a design of your choice
  • Microstructures are introduced solely through the tape, with a depth of 140 µm
  • Sealed by the you with a substrate of your choice
  • Minimum order quantity: 5 pcs

ADVANTAGES

Why Adhesive Chips?

Direct sealing by the user
Design and dimensional flexibility
Customer-specific integration
Diverse applications
Direct sealing by the user

You can directly seal the adhesive chip with a platform of your choice (glass cover, pre-cut foils, polymer substrates).

Design and dimensional flexibility

By following our basic design rules, you can create the design idea that suits your requirements and we will turn it into a product for you.

Customer-specific integration

Easily set your experiment up by directly accessing the microstructures for reagent integration, surface treatment, …etc

Diverse              applications

Scaffold integration. Spotting. Immunoassays. Organoid culture. and much more!

DESIGN RULES

Important design rules for customized tapes

  • Minimum channel width: 200 µm
  • Minimum radius of curvature: 500 µm
  • Minimum hole diameter: 300 µm
  • Minimum spacing between adjacent cut-outs: 1 mm
  • Preserve mechanical stability through the remaining tape film. Shorter cut-out sections and larger spacing are advantageous
