Ordering
Do I need to register to place an order?
Yes, you need to register an account before placing an order. After registration, your company details will be reviewed and verified by our team. Orders can only be processed once this verification is complete.
Please note that available payment methods may be limited until the verification process has been successfully completed.
I am a private customer – can I place an order?
Our webshop is intended exclusively for business customers (B2B). If you want to order as a private customer, please contact sales@microfluidic-ChipShop.com.
Can I receive a formal quotation?
Our Cart to PDF feature allows you to generate a detailed quotation directly from your shopping cart. The PDF includes all relevant information such as product details, pricing, shipping costs, taxes and delivery terms, and is considered our official quotation document.
Please note that the Cart to PDF function is only available when you are logged in to your customer account.
For internal use or collaboration with colleagues, you can use the Wishlist feature to easily share product selections via email or a shareable link.
If, in exceptional cases, a separate quotation is required, for example for tenders or framework agreements, please contact our Sales Team via sales@microfluidic-ChipShop.com.

Can I update my account or company details after registration?
Your billing address cannot be changed by customers themselves, as it is linked to your VAT number and company information. For any changes to your billing address, please contact sales@microfluidic-ChipShop.com.
However, you can add or update your delivery addresses yourself in the “Addresses” section of your account. These changes will be reviewed and re-verified by us. Until verification is complete, only certain payment methods will be available.
Do you offer product samples or trial quantities?
We do not provide free samples. However, we do not have a minimum order quantity, so you can easily order just one chip to try it out. Please note that a minimum order surcharge of 15 € applies to orders below 250 €.

Will I have to pay customs fees in addition to the shipping costs?
microfluidic ChipShop – The Shop GmbH and microfluidic ChipShop GmbH are based in Germany and ship orders under FCA incoterms. This means that for customer outside of European Union (EU), you are responsible for any applicable customs fee, duties, and taxes in addition to the shipping costs. These charges are determined by your local customs authority and must be paid by you upon arrival of the shipment in your country.
Will I be charged for VAT?
Since MCS – The Shop exclusively supplies companies, research institutions, and public bodies and is based in Germany, VAT treatment depends on the billing address of your organization:
- Customers within the European Union (excluding Germany)
If your company or institution is located in another EU member state and has a valid VAT Identification Number, the reverse charge mechanism applies. In this case, we will not charge German VAT. You are instead required to account for VAT in your own country according to local tax regulations.
- Customers in Germany
For companies and institutions based in Germany, German VAT will be charged at the applicable statutory rate. You may be entitled to deduct this VAT as input tax according to local tax rules.
- Customers outside the European Union
If your organization is based outside the EU, no VAT will be charged by us. However, import duties, taxes, and customs charges may apply upon delivery in your country. These charges are not included in the product or shipping price and must be paid by the recipient. We recommend contacting your local customs office for details.

I am a distributor and would like to place an order. What should I do?
Distributors should not register through the webshop.
Please contact our sales team directly at sales@microfluidic-chipshop.com to place your order or inquire about distribution conditions.
We want to register you as our supplier. How should we proceed?

Shipping & Pickup
How long does shipping take?
In-stock standard products are usually shipped within one business week. For non-stock products, lead times vary and will be communicated individually.
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship globally via FedEx.
Do you make partial shipment?
During registration, you need to specify whether you accept partial shipments. Usually, we try to ship all products in one shipment. However, in some cases, this may not be practical, and partial shipments will be made.
Please note that shipping costs may change accordingly. Any changes related to partial shipments and shipping fees will be clearly indicated on your order confirmation.
If you want to change your settings to allow partial shipments by default, please contact our Sales Team.

Which payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept the following payment methods:
- Credit Card (via Mollie)
- Bank Transfer (Prepayment)
- Invoice (only after verification and approval)
Some methods may be restricted until your account has been verified.
What is your discount policy?
At microfluidic ChipShop – The Shop, we aim to make pricing simple, fair, and transparent for all our B2B customers. That’s why we provide staggered pricing directly in our webshop, clearly visible on each product page.
Staggered pricing structure:
Many of our products include quantity-based pricing that automatically applies when you order larger volumes. This ensures you get fair and competitive prices without the need for discount.
Larger quantities or distributor inquiries:
If you require quantities beyond what is available in the webshop, or if you’re a distributor with specific pricing-related questions, please reach out to our Inquiries Team (inquiries@microfluidic-ChipShop.com). They will be happy to assist you with any special requirements or bulk order discussions.

Returns & Cancellations
Can I return a product?
We do not accept product returns.
I want to cancel my order, how should I proceed?
To cancel your order with microfluidic ChipShop – The Shop, please follow these steps as soon as possible:
- Contact us immediately: Reach out to our sales team directly through email (sales@microfluidic-ChipShop.com). Please provide us with your order number and the name the order was placed under to expedite the process.
- Cancellation window: We strive to process orders quickly, so it’s important to contact us at your earliest convenience. If your order has not yet been shipped, we can cancel it without issue.
- Confirmation of cancellation: Once your cancellation request has been processed, we will confirm the cancellation via email. If your order has already been dispatched, we may not be able to cancel it.
A product in my order is defective/missing, what should I do?
If you’ve received your order from microfluidic ChipShop – The Shop and found that a product is defective or missing, please follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Report immediately: Contact our sales team (Sales@microfluidic-ChipShop.com) as soon as possible. Reporting the issue promptly helps us address your concern more efficiently.
- Provide details: When you contact us, please provide your order number, the LOT (on the label of the chip), the name the order was placed under, and a detailed description of the issue. For defective products, include clear photos or a video that shows the defect.
- Review: Our team will review your claim to determine the best course of action. We may ask for additional information or details about the problem.
- Resolution: Depending on the situation, we may send a replacement for the defective or missing item, or offer another satisfactory resolution. Our goal is to ensure you are completely satisfied with your purchase.
- Follow-up: We will keep you updated throughout the process and confirm when the issue has been resolved to your satisfaction.
